Account Information

• Name and email address (provided at registration)
• Profile photo (optional, uploaded by you)
• Account type (coach or golfer)

Golf Activity Data

• Scorecards — hole-by-hole scores, par and stroke index you record
• Club bag data — club names and distance information you enter
• Golf events — events you create or RSVP to, including course name and date

Media

• Videos and images you upload for coaching purposes
• Annotations and drawings you add to videos

Social Data

• Friend connections you make within the app
• Messages sent via the in-app chat

Payment Information

• Coaching package purchases and subscription status
• Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers

Technical Data

• Device type and operating system version
• App usage and crash reports (for bug fixing)

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Coach Caddie service
• Enable coaching features — booking sessions, sharing videos, messaging
• Process payments for coaching packages and subscriptions via Stripe
• Allow you to connect with friends and share golf content
• Sync golf events to your device calendar (only if you enable this feature)
• Send you notifications about events you have RSVPd to
• Improve the app and fix technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Firebase (Google) — our backend infrastructure for authentication, database, and file storage. Data is stored in Google's secure cloud infrastructure.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all card data under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance.
• Other users — your display name, profile photo, and golf events are visible to other Coach Caddie users you connect with. Media you share is visible to the recipient.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in
• Firestore security rules restricting data access to authorised users only
• Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant payment processing

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your profile and personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Scorecard and activity data will be deleted
• Media files you uploaded will be permanently removed
• Chat messages may be retained for up to 90 days for technical reasons before permanent deletion
• Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with UK financial regulations

As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction — ask us to restrict how we process your data
• Portability — request your data in a portable format
• Objection — object to certain types of processing

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Coach Caddie is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

If you enable the Google Calendar Sync feature, Coach Caddie will request permission to access your device calendar. This permission is used solely to add golf events you create or attend. We do not read your existing calendar events, and you can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Coach Caddie may request access to your device camera and photo library to allow you to upload coaching videos and profile photos. This access is only used when you actively choose to upload content. We do not access your camera or media library without your explicit action, and you can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
